A twist on the classic samosa, this baked version is perfect for any gathering as it adds a sophisticated touch to your spread. The flaky puff pastry encases a savory mix of hearty potatoes and peas that’s infused with fragrant spices. The samosa puff is best served with a refreshing tamarind dipping sauce that balances the richness of the puff pastry and spice infused filling.
This samosa puff is super simple to make. The ingredients can easily be found at the grocery store and there is no need to make your own dough. Rather, use store-bought puff pastry sheets that can be found in the freezer section alongside frozen desserts and whipped toppings.
Follow the instructions on the package to thaw the sheets and once they are thawed, cut each sheet into 6-8 squares. Make sure that the squares are large enough to fold over and create a triangle shape. Dust off any excess flour on each of the squares before adding the samosa filling. Place about 1 heaping TBSP of the potato filling on one of the squares and then fold the other empty corner over it, making a triangular shape. Use your finger to crimp the edges and seal it, if needed.
Once all the samosa puffs have been shaped and sealed, brush each with egg wash for a beautiful golden shine before baking. Bake them at 400F for about 25-30 minutes or until they are a deep golden brown. سمبوسة بف
